Classroom Of The Elite is a Japanese novel series that premiered on May 25, 2015. The series’ theme is a psychological drama written by Shogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Shunsaku Tomose, and it is published by Media Factory and broadcast on AT-X, Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, KBS, Sun Tv, TVQ, and BS11. The Lerche has adapted an anime television series, with the first season premiering in 2017, the second season premiering in July 2022, and the third part premiering in 2023 (Classroom Of The Elite).

Class-D Students
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji (綾小路 清隆, Ayanokōji Kiyotaka)
The main character of the You-Zitsu series is Kiyotaka Ayanokji. He is a 2nd year Advanced Nurturing High School student. Ysuke was positioned in D-Class after passing the admissions test with exactly 50 points in each subject. He sits in the back left corner of the class, next to Suzune Horikita, in the anime adaptation. He is Kei Karuizawa’s boyfriend.
Suzune Horikita (堀北 鈴音, Horikita Suzune)
Suzune Horikita is one of the main protagonists in the You-Zitsu series as well as the main female lead in the Horikita spin-off manga. She is the younger sister of Manabu Horikita, the school’s Student Council leader on the 1st Year Arc ( Classroom of the Elite Characters).
She is a second-year Advanced Nurturing High School student. Suzune was introduced at the beginning of the series as the student leader and a student of Class 1-D, seated in the back row of the class, next to Kiyotaka Ayanokji.
Even after her academic abilities, she was assigned to D-Class because of her inability to collaborate with others. Nonetheless, she tries very hard for A-Class and will go to any length to achieve it.
Kikyou Kushida (櫛田 桔梗, Kushida Kikyō)
A popular girl in Class-D appears to have a lovely and pleasant personality and wishes to befriend everyone at the school. Underneath her joyful and caring exterior, she hides a violent, cold-blooded, detestable, and deceptive personality. She harbours a lot of resentment toward Suzune, but she craves her company for an unexplained reason. She was disclosed to be from the same middle school as Suzune in the light novels, and it was supposed that she learned about her dark past from her.
Airi Sakura (佐倉 愛里, Sakura Airi)
A female photographer who entered Class-D due to her anxiety and nervousness, which made it difficult for her to communicate and interact with the others. She dislikes being noticed and enjoys taking modelling photos. She was initially revealed to be a gravure idol, until her life was threatened by a stalker who worked in an appliance store and tried to assault her, rendering her unable to stand out for the entire life. Luckily, Kiyotaka and Honami arrived in time to save her life, and the stalker was apprehended by police, thanks to surveillance cameras installed around campus and the Gps sensors installed on each student’s school mobile phones.
Kei Karuizawa (軽井沢 恵, Karuizawa Kei)
Kei Karuizawa is a 2nd year student at Advanced Nurturing High School and one of the You-Zitsu series’ heroines. She is a leading figure in the class and is regarded as Class D’s female leader. She is Kiyotaka Ayanokji’s girlfriend.
Yousuke Hirata (平田 洋介, Hirata Yōsuke)
Ysuke Hirata is a 2nd year Advanced Nurturing High School student. He was presented as the student leader and a student of Class 1-D, sitting on the leftmost seat of the second row, beside Kei Karuizawa, at the beginning of the series. Ysuke is regarded as one of the most outstanding students in his class. He also belongs to the Soccer Club. His excellent grades merit placement in a higher-level class; however, for reasons that remain unknown, he was assigned to Class D.
Rokusuke Kouenji (高円寺 六助, Kōenji Rokusuke)
Rokusuke Kenji is a student from Class 1-D who comes from a well-known family of intellectuals. However, due to his egotistical behaviour, he was assigned to Class-D.
Ken Sudou (須藤 健, Sudō Ken)
Ken Sudou is a 2-D student and part of the Basketball Club. He is known as one of the three Idiots of D-Class because of his poor academic performance. Despite his athletic ability is unquestionably among the best in the school.
Kanji Ike (池 寛治, Ike Kanji)
One of the “3 Idiots of Class-D,” with lesser intelligence despite strong communication skills and camping knowledge.
Haruki Yamauchi (山内 春樹, Yamauchi Haruki)
One of the “3 Idiots of Class-D” with a tendency to lie. He has a crush on Kushida, but he also has thoughts and emotions for Sakura. In the light novel’s spin-off volume, he admits to Sakura but is rejected because of her incapability and uncomfort to deal with the unpleasant situation and her emotions for Kiyotaka.
Class- C Students: Classroom Of The Elite Characters
Kakeru Ryuuen (龍園 翔, Ryūen Kakeru)
Kakeru Ryen (, Ryen Kakeru) is the student leader of Class 1-C who is recognised for being a notorious delinquent and who leads his class through fear rather than confidence. He has a gang of minions who do his dirty work, adding to his notorious reputation.
Mio Ibuki (伊吹 澪, Ibuki Mio)
Mio Ibuki is a first-year student. Not only does she have exceptional academic abilities, but she also has exceptional physical abilities. She is skilled in fighting, knowing several martial arts that challenge those of many martial artists.
Class- B Students: Classroom Of The Elite Characters
Honami Ichinose (一之瀬 帆波, Ichinose Honami)
Honami Ichinose is a female heroine who shows up as an opposing leader to the other classes competing for the place of Class A in the You-Zitsu series. She is also a part of the Student Council, which is led by its president, Miyabi Nagumo. So far, she is classified as a 2nd year student at Advanced Nurturing High School. Honami was presented at the start of the series as both the 1st year class representative and a freshman student from Class 1-B.
Ryuuji Kanzaki (神崎 隆二, Kanzaki Ryūji)
Ryji Kanzaki is among the Class 1-B representatives.
Class- A students
Arisu Sakayanagi (坂柳 有栖, Sakayanagi Arisu)
Class-A’s main leader, who seems to be disabled and walks with a baton. She is shown to be incredibly smart because she appears to be very knowledgeable about the school policy and the S-system. Along with their respective classes, she and Ryuen have an old rivalry because she believes his difficulties against Class-A are intriguing but ultimately pointless. She was disclosed to understand about the “White Room” in volume 5 of the light novel and cryptically exposes that she understands Kiyotaka, where she met him eight years and 243 days earlier in the past (Classroom of the Elite).
Kouhei Katsuragi (葛城 康平, Katsuragi Kōhei)
Khei Katsuragi is a Class 1-A student who served as one of Class A’s two leaders.
Yahiko Totsuka (戸塚 弥彦, Totsuka Yahiko)
He is a Class 1-A student and a part of the Katsuragi Faction. Yahiko is an upper-class student who comes across as arrogant and judgmental, and he despises lower-class students, even calling them rubbish.
Student Council
Manabu Horikita (堀北 学, Horikita Manabu)
Manabu Horikita is Suzune Horikita’s older brother as well as a student at Advanced Nurturing High School. He is the President of the Student Committee.
Akane Tachibana (橘 茜, Tachibana Akane)
The Student Council Secretary, who is often seen with the school’s Student Council President Manabu and has feelings for him.
